I love the balls on this show: a Tarantino riff sees the lead characters engage in lengthy monologues as they sit around in a restaurant a la Pulp Fiction, and I mean lengthy monologues, the kind that makes people switch channels because they’ve had enough; I have never known another prime time comedy to have the death wish to do that to itself, it’s practically begging for people to stop watching and tune out as it continues to pander to the critically engaged minority. Long may it continue, but I’ll be surprised if it does. Cougar Town.
